Terms of Service (T&Cs)

1. Purpose

These Terms of Service (hereinafter “T&Cs”) define the terms of access and use of the Rewordify service (hereinafter “the Service”). By accessing and using the Service, the user accepts these T&Cs without reservation.

2. Description of the Service

The Service provides users with tools to assist in writing, reformulating, and adjusting text style using artificial intelligence techniques. The purpose of the Service is to improve the fluency, tone, and clarity of written content.

3. AI Act Compliance and Transparency (Article 50)

In accordance with Article 50 of the European AI Act, transparency obligations apply when publishing synthetic content:

• Transparency required for public information: If the user publishes or disseminates text generated or substantially manipulated by the Service to inform the public on matters of public interest (news, politics, healthcare, environment, etc.), they are required to clearly disclose the artificial origin of the content.
• Human review exception: The obligation to disclose AI origin does not apply if the text has undergone substantial human editorial review AND a natural or legal person assumes editorial responsibility for it.
• User role (Deployer): Rewordify is an assistance tool and does not assume editorial responsibility. It is the user's responsibility to implement the necessary editorial review processes or to append the legally required transparency notice.

4. Access, Legal Capacity, and User Account

Use of the Service and subscription purchases are restricted to legal adults with full legal capacity, or minors who have obtained prior authorization from their legal representative. Certain features require the creation of an account. The user agrees to provide accurate information and maintain the confidentiality of their credentials. Any fraudulent use may result in the suspension of the account.

5. Responsible Use and Restrictions

The user undertakes to:

• use the Service in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and these T&Cs,
• not use the Service to produce or distribute illegal, defamatory, or infringing content,
• not use the Service with the explicit goal of bypassing the legal transparency obligations of the AI Act (notably to intentionally publish falsified or misleading public interest content without mandatory disclosure),
• not use the Service for cheating, academic fraud, or professional dishonesty.

6. Intellectual Property

Algorithms, interfaces, content, and trademarks linked to the Service are protected by intellectual property rights. Any unauthorized reproduction or exploitation is strictly prohibited. Texts submitted by the user and content generated by the Service remain under the user's responsibility and intellectual property.

7. Limitation of Liability and Best Efforts Obligation

The Service is provided under an obligation of best efforts (obligation de moyens). The publisher makes no guarantees regarding specific outcomes from using the Service.

• No guarantee of undetectability: The Service makes no guarantee that reformatted texts will be deemed 'human-written' or will successfully bypass third-party AI detection software (such as Turnitin, GPTZero, or any other academic or commercial detection tool).
• Regulatory compliance: The publisher cannot be held liable for the user's failure (as a deployer) to comply with transparency obligations under the AI Act or other local regulations.
• Sanctions: The publisher disclaims all liability for academic, disciplinary, administrative, or financial sanctions resulting from non-compliant use of the Service by the user.
• Service availability: The Service is accessible 24/7, subject to temporary interruptions for maintenance, technical updates, or force majeure. Such temporary interruptions do not entitle the user to any compensation.

8. Personal Data Protection and Data Retention

The processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the GDPR and our privacy policy.

Text Data Commitment: Rewordify does NOT retain, store, or reuse any text submitted by the user. Your written content is never used to train our language models or those of our third-party API providers.

9. Modifications to the T&Cs

The publisher of the Service reserves the right to modify these T&Cs at any time. Users will be notified of any updates via the application or by email.

10. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

• These T&Cs are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable resolution, French courts shall have sole jurisdiction.
• Mediation: In accordance with Articles L.612-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, consumer users have the right to free recourse to a consumer mediator: AME Conso – https://www.mediationconso-ame.com/.

11. Subscriptions and Payments

• Legal Capacity: Purchasing a paid subscription requires legal majority or express parental consent.
• Subscription Plans: The service is offered as a monthly or annual subscription. Current rates are available on the application's pricing page.
• Payment: All payments are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, the user accepts Stripe's terms and authorizes recurring billing.
• Service Continuity: Access to the service begins immediately after payment and remains active for the duration of the billing cycle.
• Right of Withdrawal: In accordance with Article L.221-28 13° of the French Consumer Code, the user acknowledges that immediate access to the Service after payment constitutes full performance of the contract. Consequently, the user expressly waives their 14-day right of withdrawal.
• Termination: The user can end their subscription at any time from their account dashboard. Termination takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
